Neurological conditions are those which concern the central and peripheral nervous system – the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Up to 1 billion people suffer from a neurological disorder and it is the most common cause of serious disability and can have an enormous impact on mental, familial, social and physical health.
Those with neurological conditions can experience difficulties ranging from general day to day activities and tasks, and may experience challenges with fatigue, muscular weakness, decreased coordination, respiratory or shortness of breath and many more.
Research has shown there is a strong link between physical exercise and the prevention or delay of neuro-degenerative symptoms. This includes the decline of physical capabilities, hand skills, walking ability, balance and independence. This was shown in people who exercised for as little as 60 minutes each week.
We have several exercise classes specific to those with neurological conditions or complications. All our classes are focused on improving your overall health and wellbeing.
